Thank you so much, Suchita
I hope you read the message sent last week reminding you all about the annual program held in the memory of my mom at Prempuri Ashram, opposite Westside Store, Babulnath on May 1 every year. Please do come on this Tuesday to the 3rd floor hall at 5 pm sharp.
Earlier, in February, we had fixed somebody else to sing the devotional songs. But in early April, that singer expressed his inability to perform leaving us in a total dismay as it is very difficult to get a good singer at such a short notice. I immediately contacted another singer who worked at Matheran and was musically blessed inspite of being on a wheelchair. But unfortunately she too couldn’t get the consent from her employer to come to Mumbai just for an evening. We lost one more crucial week in this deliberation. Time was running out for me and I could see the possibility of cancelling the first hour of the program. Even the pamphlets for the program were awaiting their print. In that desperate state, I made an SOS call to Suchita (my ex-student and now a dear friend). She was not a professional singer, but was blessed with a lovely voice ad musical sense. I told her the whole situation and asked her to bail me out. She said, “OK, when do we start the practice?” I was stunned by her immediate and unconditional acceptance especially when she knew well that she hardly had the required time to practice. She swung into action, made the list, downloaded the tracks and started practising religiously every day. And all this was inspite of the fact that she is married and has to look after her house and in laws. Well, if this is not diligence, commitment, and an ever-readiness to help someone in dire need, then what is? I realised how much I had to learn from my this ‘student’. I taught her accounts, she taught me care and concern. I don’t know how to thank you enough, Suchita. And so, may I request you all to please come for this program, not for my sake, not even for my mother’s sake, but just for Suchita’s sake. The Lord does not make too many of her types these days. Her performance from 5pm to 6pm will be followed by my Guru Haribhai Kothari’s talk on “What is true awakening.” We all need to learn a lot from Haribhai and Suchita. Don’t we? Atleast, I do."
I hope its proper. Please let me know if any changes are required.
