Graceful Acceptance...
Normally, positive thinking is to expect the best out of every moment in the future. While this may be true, is not accepting that whatever comes out of each moment will be the very best also positive thinking? - a graceful acceptance trusting that there is fairness in all situations, even though some events appear to be unfair from our limited perspective and short-sighted vision.
This needs Bhakti - a trust in Isvara, an order which governs everything in creation. An unwavering faith (Shraddha) that this creation has come out of a wholeness, a benevolence, and there is no scope for any like/dislike in the ordainer (Isvara). If our observation does not seem to concur with this, we should be willing to give it up and accept the above declaration of all scriptures. Our evaluation of what we perceive is based on our preconceived notions determined by our limited knowledge causing us to feel bound. Nothing ever happens without a reason, without a cause. Nobody causes situations to happen. They are merely instruments in creating all situations to happen. They are merely instruments in creating all situations as per the order. In His infinite wisdom, the Lord decides what is best for us and therefore it must be right. Someday, we may understand His logic. For now, we accept it gracefully. All this frees us from harbouring blame, complaint, resentment, anger, guilt.
The simplest things in life will then become a source of great enjoyment like the mere fact that we can walk, see, hear, smell, touch, think. Even when the mind protests that a given situation should not be so, we would accept it in the knowledge that it is the product of infinite wisdom, accurate, meant for our growth. It is His prasad, grace. Success is His blessings, yet a failure is His blessings in disguise. Whatever actions we need to take thereafter is not out of anger/resentment, but based on a deliberate consideration of the above understanding.
Personally, I have not been able to apply this knowledge in all situations, especially the adverse ones. But that maybe due to the fact that I may be carrying a big backlog of stupidity. But it is quite possible that you all don't have this handicap and can accept and apply this perspective after 1 or 2 readings...
God Bless!
